Origami Lily PDF Print E-mail

Dating as far back as 1580 B.C., when images of lilies were discovered in a villa in Crete, these majestic flowers have long held a role in ancient mythology.

Lilies are known to be the May birth flower, and the 30th wedding anniversary flower. Lilies symbolize virtue, friendship and devotion as well as wealth and prosperity. Although the lily is usually white, this traditional origami lily can be folded into a bouquet of colors. Create a bunch of lilies and arrange into a coordinating vase for an everlasting gift!

Supplies

  • 6" origami paper
  • florist wire
  • florist tape
  • wire cutters
  • pencil
  • vase

Instructions

Insert a piece of floral wire through the bottom of the folded lily. To make a hole for inserting, cut the bottom of the folded lily about 1/16". To secure the lily to the wire, wrap the bottom of the lily with the flexible floral tape and wrap the stem all the way down.Arrange at least 5 lilies in a vase for a beautiful decoration for your home or office.

Tips

The lily makes a great gift topper! Just insert the end of the lily into a simple bow and secure with double sided tape.
