Sumi Inks and Stones

Soot from pine or certain vegetable oils mixed with animal or fish glue is molded and dried to form a solid block which, when ground on a Suzuri stone with water, turns to ink. We also offer permanent liquid Sumi ink made fromt he same high quality vegetable oil soot as our Sumi sticks.
