Geisha
Greeting Card
Create a beautiful card with simple techniques
Supplies
needed:
Yasutomo
Waterbrush size small (KWB09)
Yuzen Origami paper #4307
Red tairei paper HPSE194
Mizuhiki paper cord
opaque watercolor in red, gold and white
small eyelets
Blank Greeting card
rubber stamp, black pigment
pad and black embossing powder.
Stamp the Geisha onto black card stock
with black pigment ink and emboss with fine black embossing powder.
Fill the Waterbrush carefully with ordinary household bleach instead
of water. Paint the bleach on the face and body of the Geisha image
and let it dry. Lightening speed will depend on the paper. You
may have to paint it twice to get a light result.
After the image is dry, fill in the
areas with white opaque watercolor to accent the face, hands and
scroll. Use red to color the Kimono and gold to color in the obi
belt. A little gold in the hair looks elegant too. Let dry completely.
After you have colored
the image, glue a piece of yuzen origami on the blank greeting
card, then cut a piece of red paper slightly smaller than the origami
paper and glue. Glue the painted image on top. Punch a hole in
each corner of the paper layer, insert and set eyelets. Cut a piece
of Mizuhiki cord in half and put them into the holes in the card
and tie with a simple square knot.
