Draw
your design on the card stock. Immediately sprinkle embossing
powder on the surface. If you work fast enough you will
see that the powder has stuck to the wet ink. (with glossy
paper you can work slowly) Shake off excess powder
from the paper and then proceed with your design.
You can do this a few times before applying the heat. Cover the
entire paper surface with the gel metallics leaving only borders
around the design for an enameled look. Apply
heat about 2 inches away (check your heat gun's manufacturer's
instructions) from the paper and watch the embossing powder melt
on the surface and the metallic ink will shimmer through the
clear embossed surface. This will take just a few seconds, and
then it will harden quickly.
You can embellish cards or journals or anything that will take
a thermal embossing technique. You will find that the weather,
paper absorbency and your own writing or drawing style will
determine the time in which you have to sprinkle the powder
before the ink dries. You will have to experiment!
