Lay your matte coat paper on stamping surface with coated side up. Stamp the image with a dye based ink. Pigment inks will not work with this project. Let the ink dry.
color with Gel Xtreme Pastel pens
Color inside the lines with your Gel Xtreme pastel colors. The gel colors will act as a resist, so wherever you don't color the area will be black. Think about  this as you color the image, and leave some some areas blank. Let the gel ink dry thoroughly.
apply ink over colored image
Roll a small brayer into your ink pad and pick up a generous amount of ink. Brayer right on top of your colored image and cover it completely with the ink.
wipe off ink and the colors will come through!
Quickly grab your paper towel and wipe off the ink from the surface and the areas that were previously colored will come through. Be careful not to wipe too hard or you will lose all of the color. If you need to brighten up the image a bit, go back with the pastel pens to highlight  and brighten areas.
Cut out images and glue them onto a card or a book. This technique even works on real eggs too, but you must let the gel ink dry thoroughly before proceeding to the inking process.
