Kirigami Japanese Maple Leaf
This simple fold and cut leaf is great when made in different fall
colors.
You will need a sheet of 6" or
smaller origami paper and a good pair of scissors.

Fold
in half diagonally. |
Mountain
fold three times at equal distance as shown in the photo. |
Valley
fold inbetween the first set of mountain folds on the right. |

Valley
fold again between the second set of mountain folds. |
Valley
fold one more time between the last mountain fold and the
left edge of the paper. Keep the unit together as shown. |
Cut
1/8" from the edge all the way down the side to
create the stem. |

|
To
make the leaf petals, cut at a curved angle towards
the center of the folds.

Open
the folded leaf carefully. |
You
are finished!
