Instructions:
This idea came from Carol Duvall and Cherryl Greene
after we did a Mizuhiki Christmas tree card on the Carol Duvall
Show. They took one of our ideas and when a step further using
the Sizzix machine!
Step 1. Lay
down several strips of double-sided carpet tape side by side
onto a thin sheet of paper to make it approximately 4" x
4".
Step 2. Peel
off the tape liner and lay 4" strips of gold Mizuhiki ribbon
one against the other with no gaps until you cover the tape entirely.
You will have a solid sheet of ribbon now.
Step 3. Arrange
the Mizuhiki sheet onto the star die and put it through the Sizzix
machine according to manufacturers directions. If you don't have
a die cut machine, you can take your Mizuhiki sheet to a local
scrapbook store or craft store and have them cut it for you there.
If not, Make a star on the back side of the Mizuhiki sheet and
cut it out carefully with a sharp craft knife. The best part of
this project is that you now have the star and the frame for
two different projects!
Step 4. Take
the star frame and trim edges with your craft knife until you
have a nice little square and place the photo on the back. Trim
edges if needed..
Step 5. Stamp
the word "Friends"
on the gold card and emboss with gold powder for the raised effect.
Step 6. Use
the double sided tape to lay the picture frame onto the card.
Step 7. Punch
four holes on each corner of the square and top of the card.
The Yasutomo Handi-Punch works great for this.
Step 8. Insert
four gold brads or eyelets to finish.
