Mizuhiki
Ribbon Frame
This frame is fun
and easy to make! Add
it to your scrapbook layouts or use it by itself to
embellish a card.
Supplies
needed:
Mizuhiki
ribbon 1/4" wide by 18" long in
any color
Double
stick tape 1/4"
wide
Cutting
mat (quilters style)
Sharp craft knife

Mizuhiki ribbon is made of single strands
of Mizuhiki cords which are glued together
into 1/4" wide by 18" long strips.
They are traditionally used to make chopstick
holders in Japan. |

Instructions:
In this example, the picture
is 1 3/4" x 2 1/4", but you can use any size picture
that is no larger than 8" x 10". To make frames for
larger pictures, you will need more strands of ribbon.

| Layout your picture
on the quilting mat. You will see the diagonal lines across
the grid. |
Cut all four strips at a 45
degree angle using your photo and grid as your guide. |

| Apply the double
stick tape to the back of the strips. |
Take off the liner from the
back of the strips and lay them over the edge of the photo
starting with one strip, going around the photo clockwise. |
