Mizuhiki Frame

Mizuhiki Ribbon Frame
This frame is fun and easy to make! Add it to your scrapbook layouts or use it by itself to embellish a card.

Supplies needed:

Mizuhiki ribbon 1/4" wide by 18" long in any color
Double stick tape 1/4" wide
Cutting mat (quilters style)
Sharp craft knife

Mizuhiki ribbon is made of single strands of Mizuhiki cords which are glued together into 1/4" wide by 18" long strips. They are traditionally used to make chopstick holders in Japan.

Instructions:
In this example, the picture is 1 3/4" x 2 1/4", but you can use any size picture that is no larger than 8" x 10". To make frames for larger pictures, you will need more strands of ribbon.


Layout your picture on the quilting mat. You will see the diagonal lines across the grid.	Cut all four strips at a 45 degree angle using your photo and grid as your guide.

Apply the double stick tape to the back of the strips.	Take off the liner from the back of the strips and lay them over the edge of the photo starting with one strip, going around the photo clockwise.
